Add smb users to local groups

Hi there,

I’ve got an OpenSuse 10.3 box setup to authenticate an Active Directory Windows Domain, it seems to work very well and was easy to setup. Users can sit down at the Linux box and enter their Windows Username and password.

However I need to be able to add the windows users to local groups on linux box, and I can’t work out how, adding thier usernames “DOMAIN\user” doesn’t seem to work.

Any idea?

Thanks

Simon

Dear Simon;

Is “Net groupmap add” what you are looking for? See the Samba docs. Recent
releases of Samba, do not set any default groupmaps.
