Ever seen something you want to C&P something you see in a browser & didn’t want to open say Kwrite or Libre Office? Well it turns out you can do this:
select what you want to copy rclick copy to Klipboard
2)Open dolphin to your /home rclick & select then click paste clipboard contents
a dialog box will show up asking you to name it give it a name click OK
** Note: this only works with text.**
Thanks Chief! I didn’t know but now I do, that’s even easier I’ll take that to where I got the original.

I copy paste into sticky notes / tomboy notes which i “set” to start with the desktop. I click on tray icon and copy paste into a new note
Not quite the same but I did have kwrite on the panel.
ctrl+c and ctrl+v works perfectly fine, too.
There is one more cool function in klipper:
You can modify the klipper content and create a QR code. That one, you can also drag&drop into Dolphin or elsewhere: http://1.1.1.2/bmi/www.susepaste.org/images/52206822.png
tested in:
3.4.33-2.24-desktop x86_64
openSUSE 12.2
KDE 4.8.5
klipper v0.9.7
What I like most about copy & paste in Xwindows is that I don’t have to select “Copy” or “Paste” at all!
Just select a text in one application and press the middle mouse button in another application to paste it there.
If I have to use Windows, I always try to do it that way as well out of habit. It always takes me some time getting used to right-click/choose “Copy”/then right-click/choose “Paste” (or press the corresponding keyboard shortcuts) again…
Oh, and in KDE4 middle-clicking on the desktop automatically creates a new notes plasmoid on the desktop with the current X selection’s text. I really like that!
I can’t seem to get this to work. I added klipper to my panel yet when I do a copy, then click on the clipboard icon, nothing happens.
What am I doing wrong ?
How did you add it and where? Could you post a screenshot? Klipper should be running by default on a fresh install, maybe you just added a launcher for Klipper to the panel?
Look for a scissors symbol in the system tray (the part just left of the digital clock). http://wstaw.org/m/2013/10/17/klipper.png
OK, as I thought. You added a launcher for Klipper to the panel, that’s the clipboard icon you have.
Click on that to run Klipper, when Klipper is running it should show that scissors symbol in the system tray.
You can remove that clipboard again, you won’t need it. Klipper should start automatically on login.
If it doesn’t do that, right-click on the scissors and select “Quit”. It should then ask if it should be started automatically on login.
