11.4 MS 2 GOT IT

GOT IT thanks to “oldcpu” it thread “11.4 Milestone2 X window failed to start from KDE liveCD”

Section "Device"
  Identifier "Default Device"

  Driver "radeon"

  ## Required magic for radeon/radeonhd drivers; output name
  ## (here: "DVI-0") can be figured out via 'xrandr -q'
  #Option "monitor-DVI-0" "Default Monitor"

  #oldcpu added following 2 lines
  Option "BusType" "PCI"
  Option "AGPSize" "64"

EndSection

The driver in my case “nouveau” was not set.

What I did during install of MS2
ignored
“libc.so.6 …” message (by the way libc.so.6 does exist ?!?)

and opted for all the “break dependency” warning msg.

This left me with workable
vmlinuz…
initrd…

I integrated this in my existing Grub (there were some issues here, I had to rebuild it, mayor drama, need to find out more about grub)

Now MS2 booted and did the last step of sysconfig.

Via yast did an update and added KDE pattern which I broke during install.

Found some bugs eg screen resolution settings do not stick.

cheers Otto;)

After resetting the hardlocklimit, MS2 appears to run faster than 11.3.
