11.1 Beta 4.6

This AM, I turned on an update of my 11.1 Beta 4 install & it now says 11.1 Beta 4.6 – looking good for the 13th.

Only problem was with non-oss; it didn’t want to update on a couple of repro sites; otherwise it went really well. There was even a kernel update & it didn’t break my OEM Nvidia driver. This was with Gnome, KDE4 & KDE3 for about 7GB.

Ready for rc1;)

According to the mailing lists, the guys @ SuSE have been working on the repo/meta “keys” (hope they lock them in prior to rc1).

This AM, I did a “zypper ref” and the 1st thing was a query on importing the new key. Anyone having problems with the repos acting “strange”, I recommend having a look at the keys. “zypper ref” should help fix it for you, then one can go back to Yast, etc.

Current version is beta5.

Agree. after a “zypper up” of about 1.7 GB, My Computer reads:

OS: Linux 2.6.27.5-2-default x86_64
Current user: jim@linux-wxyz
System: openSUSE 11.1 Beta 5 (x86_64)
KDE: 4.1.3 (KDE 4.1.3) “release 2.1”

BTW, I had to accept the new repo/meta Keys @ “zypper ref”.

The kernel update broke my manually installed nvidia OEM driver; the -K repair didn’t work & I had to do it all from scratch. However, once up, Compiz DE was working 100% w/o any tinkering. And, I know VirtualBox will need to be re-established. Other than that “looking good”.

Now to go play;)

Could you tell me which Repository you get KDE 4 from as My Computer reads:

OS:
Linux 2.6.27.5-2-default i686
Current user:
aussiebob@linux
System:
openSUSE 11.1 Beta 5 (i586)
KDE:
4.1.3 (KDE 4.1.3) “release 55.1”

I only used oss & non-oss for the update (widehat), so they came from there; I will turn on the KDE4 unstable repos this afternoon when I get back from the ranch and go for the latest.

Then again, I think I will get the latest Beta 5 DVD and start over with a clean install & start moving over my “stuff” from 11.0 – seems stable enough.
