11.1 and dual displays

I am trying to configure dual displays in 11.1 but i havent quite gotten it yet.

Here is what i have:

  1. Dell 1907FP - 1280 x 1024 @ 60 htz
  2. Acer X223W - 1680 x 1050 @ 60htz
  3. ATI HD3870

I have the Dell listed in the hardware as the proper display and as Display 2. The acer i had to put in as the generic LCD and as display 1.

i would like to have the Dell as the extended desktop and the Acer as the main desktop. The closest i have gotten is a cloned display but the picture is off on the Dell by a long shot. Looks like its trying to be 1280 x 1024 but is actually cloning the Acer. Any other combinations with Xinerama multi-head gives me way whacked out displays with white displays etc.

It seems to want the Dell to be the main display but i want that for the Acer as its the 22".

Anyone have any luck with this stuff?
