ATI Display driver for 32 bit Linux on Dell Vostro 1000

Hello,

I have a Dell Vostro 1000 laptop and I have installed 32 bit Open Suse Linux 11.3. I have the ATI Display card. Please let me know how can I install the driver for it. I am facing some issues without the card.

Can you tell us exactly what ATI Display card? (I’m guessing an “ATI Radeon Xpress 1150” , which is a legacy card (no longer supported by fglrx driver) but I am not certain). What may help to do that, is to provide the output of:

/sbin/lspci -nnk

Also, what driver are you using now ? You can tell by the ‘my computer’ icon on a KDE desktop, or you can look inside the /var/log/Xorg.0.log file and search for something like " (==) RADEON(0): " or “(**) NVIDIA(0)” (indicating Radeon graphic driver) or something else inside indicating another driver …
