Zypper refresh: Timeout exceeded when accessing http://download.opensuse.org/...-primary.xml.gz

I am sure the file is on that link, because I try to get the file by wget and from other mirrors, perhaps my network is slow and unstable.

So how can I increase the value of timeout of zypper?

I also notice that *primary.xml.gz file in mirrors.dotsrc.org is much smaller than that in mirrors.dotsrc.org, do I still suffer the timeout problem if I switch to Leap 15.6?

Leap 15.6 is still in RC stage. That means the content of the update directory gets incorperated into the base directory until its final release. When Leap 15.6 gets released, the update directory will be empty.

Leap 15.5 on the other side is now half a year old. That means the update directory gets bigger and bigger over time as more and more updates get released.

Thats basic mechanisms and one difference between final release and alpha/beta/RC.

How to increase the value of timeout?

When I setup my computer to a high speed internet connection, the download is not a problem. But I’v never met a problem in the low speed connection, is because zypper timeout too short?

Is it because zypper timeout too short? When I setup my computer to a high speed internet connection, the refresh is not a problem, but normally I’m in an area with bad internet connection, zypper ref always failed with timeout.
