Yes, not only does steam require 32-bit libraries, streaming with Steam Link requires Mesa-libva32bit for hardware accelerated HEVC.

Doesn’t Steam come in a flatpak version?
Personally I wouldn’t want to run games outside a container or dedicated gaming machine (read throwaway).

Yes and it has it’s own challenges. For example, the game processes are sandboxed, meaning that if you use anything that tries to inject something or modify something after the main processes is executed, it will be blocked. Optiscaler, mod installers, secondary launchers come to mind.
