Which option should I choose? Anyway to fix this?
I only have my home laptop with wfi hotspot internet. I’m not connected to any LAN or network.

I would choose option to de-install it. I’m not even sure why it was installed on your system, as pmount is very old and obsolete on modern openSUSE systems. It predated the udisks2 desktop device management stack.
Cool. Will do and will report back. Looks like none of my apps are dependent on pmount. But I’m a noob so it’s just a guess from below output.
advait@localhost:~> sudo zypper search -i --requires pmount
[sudo] password for root:
Loading repository data...
Reading installed packages...
S | Name | Summary | Type
---+--------+----------------------------------------+--------
i+ | pmount | Mount removable devices as normal user | package
advait@localhost:~>
(Thanks to Google AI for the command suggestion.)
You are claiming for a long time that you are a noob. But you should already be able to see yourself where this package is coming from:
pmount-0.9.99-1699.4.pm.300.x86_64
It is a packman package. It was often explained what to do with Packman issues. This is quite an easy “issue”. It is quite strange that you don’t even know why this package is installed on your system. It does not exist in the official Tumbleweed repos. Only on packman. So you installed it somewhere in the past. You should know why and roughly when. If you don’t need it, simply uninstall it.
It is not adviced to blindly install packages from the full packman repo without at least some basic knowledge how to resolve such package conflicts. This applys also to all other third party repos.
I would say I’m still a noob. I only know a few commands and I use google a lot. I know very little about troubleshooting beyond googling and this forum.
I had no idea at all what the “pm” meant.
I have only the vaguest idea what packman is and I definitely have zero knowledge how to troubleshoot packman issues. I have zero memory of previously reading anything about packman.
It’s ok that you think it’s strange, but I truly have zero clue how that package got onto my system. Shrug.
Today is the first time I became aware that the “packman repo” existed. I’ve heard the word “packman” in the past but there’s never been a need for me to look into it before today.
To be honest, I find it strange you or anyone would think I would know what the pm stood for. But that’s ok, issue got resolved. It’s all good.
Done. Looks like it resolved the issue. Thanks!
Please, really? Why do your threads, where you showed your repo list, always contain the packman repo then?
Third party repos don’t add themselve to a system. The user needs to actively enable/add them. The linked thread shows a lot of third party repos. And you seem to struggle to cope with the issues which arise by the use of them.
It appears like you lost control over your system then. The zypper output from the first post in this thread shows clearly that you have the packman repo enabled:
advait@localhost:~> sudo zypper refresh
...
Repository 'Virtualization (openSUSE_Tumbleweed)' is up to date.
...
Repository 'google-chrome' is up to date.
...
Retrieving repository 'ecsos's Home Project (openSUSE_Tumbleweed)' metadata ..........................................................................................................................[done]
Building repository 'ecsos's Home Project (openSUSE_Tumbleweed)' cache ...............................................................................................................................[done]
Repository 'Packman Extras (Mesa)' is up to date.
Repository 'Open H.264 Codec (openSUSE Tumbleweed)' is up to date.
Repository 'TeamViewer - x86_64' is up to date.
Yep. And I have no idea how or why or when it got installed. Shrug.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I occasionally install various apps. In general, I don’t explore what those apps do in terms of installing or adding repos.
And, most importantly, thanks to all the forum members for helping to resolve the various issues I’ve had. Tumbleweed is a great OS.
Can you please combine your replies in a single post, when you’re doing this? Multiple replies to a single post, line by line makes this incredibly painful to read.
Sure, how is that done?
` tags as necessary to break up the original post however you need to.
There may be other ways to do it, but that’s how I do it.
And of course discourse decides that I didn’t mean to put anything I did in code blocks, to actually be treated as code blocks.
Left Bracket | quote | Right Bracket and then Left Bracket | /quote | Right Bracket
Around the thing you want to quote.
Sorry the forum ate the thing.
This Paste might make it more clear https://paste.opensuse.org/pastes/f8abf99f5a5f
Cool. Thanks! Very helpful.
