Trying yo upgrade my system, but seems bbswitch app is not correctly uploaded on mirrors?
Retrieving: bbswitch-0.8-41.66.x86_64.rpm ........................................................................................................................................................................................[not found]
File './x86_64/bbswitch-0.8-41.66.x86_64.rpm' not found on medium 'https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/X11:/Bumblebee/openSUSE_Tumbleweed/'
Abort, retry, ignore? [a/r/i/...? shows all options] (a)
and ignoring it fails upgrade:
Installation has completed with error.
and this s confirmed in logs:
[zypp] TargetImpl.cc(commit):1399 Some packages could not be provided. Aborting commit.
So one thing I want is to report that new bbswitch version is missing in repo, but then I also need advice on what is best practice if I still want to upgrade rest of my system.
should I lock nvidia related stuff to current version and run zypepr dup again or there are better ways?
download.opensuse.org is not a mirror itself, it is a redirect to some other mirror which in your case wasn’t in sync yet.
Happens from time to time, especially on such big rebuilds.
It looks as if your problem is already addressed. But allow me a remark. It is always best to post what you see on your terminal complete. That is including the line with the prompt and the command to begin with, all output, and ending with the line with the new prompt.
We now only have snippets of the output and still do not know what the command was. In this case ir seems to be enough to help you nevertheless, but please next time show all complete.
Indeed, download.o.o is not mirror itself and seems it was caching issue as I don’t remember to what actual server it was connecting to. I have swapped back to download.o.o from widehat.o.o and everything updates correctly now.
Next time will get more detailed logs to pin down the issue quicker.
I see that this issue was resolved by a mirror syncing but the question as to how to update the rest of the system regardless remains unanswered AFAICT.
Also - is it my imagination or is the mirroring system becoming increasingly fragile?
