zypper can't find installed lxde [solved]

lxde shows in the login environment selection. I select it and a crippled lxde session starts.

I am trying to totally remove lxde, both system and user files.

# zypper remove lxde
Reading installed packages...
'lxde' not found in package names. Trying capabilities.
No provider of 'lxde' found.
Resolving package dependencies...
Nothing to do.

In yast I remove a lxde-terminal and something else lxde related.

Any ideas on how to remove lxde…
… and install mate?

NEVERMIND. I saw icewm and read lxde.

@rick71:

In the YaST Software Manager, choose the view “Patterns” –

  • In the Pattern “LXDE Desktop Environment”, there’s a special package pair – “patterns-lxde-lxde” and “patterns-lxde-lxde_office” …
As the package names hint, they’re Patterns which pull in all the packages needed for the LXDE Desktop to function correctly.
*=2]And, the package dependencies of those Patterns, define which packages you need to remove to remove the LXDE Desktop from your system.
*=3]But, you have to be a little bit careful because, many of the “recommended” packages are also used by other Desktop environments.

On this KDE Plasma system, the packages also pulled in by the LXDE Desktop are –

MozillaFirefox
NetworkManager
avahi
desktop-data-openSUSE
gconf2-branding-openSUSE
google-droid-fonts
gtk2-engine-murrine
gutenprint
libyui-qt-pkg15
lightdm
patterns-base-x11
patterns-desktop-multimedia
samba
xdg-user-dirs
xdg-utils
xdm
xorg-x11-essentials
xscreensaver
yast2-control-center-qt

And then, the same again for the Pattern “MATE Desktop Environment” …
