I just upgraded my motherboard to the ASUS Z270e Strix. Everything is working fine except the intel nic. I have read many posts on other forums that this seems to be a common problem with other distros. Anybody here running running Leap 42.2 on a Z270 chipset mobo? I can get network connection with the wifi but not wired. I understand that this is driver problem but have no idea how to fix. I can wait for a fix, but I would rather use the wired connection. I have tried reinstalling the operating system with the Leap iso, but the installer can’t detect the wired nic so I have to setup the wifi to install. Any help would be appreciated, thanx.

You should start by giving us hardware details…
/usr/sbin/hwinfo --netcard
Assuming it has the same/similar Ethernet chipset as its sister models, then this thread could be relevant. It describes an issue with the NVM checksum error that causes the driver not to load. It links to this discussion

With enough technical knowledge you could probably get this working by following the advice in the thread, but it’s not for inexperienced users. You might just have to wait for a patch.
It appears to be the checksum problem, looks like I’m waiting for a patch. Thanks for the help.
