i have recently upgraded to kde 4.4.3 - using opensuse 11.2 64 bit and seem to have some problems with youtube using konqueror. most times the video does not play - no error message or anything.
is anyone else having problems or is it just me?
i don’t think it is a problem with flash - as youtube works fine using firefox, kde3 konqueror and seamonkey on my p/c.
I have the same problem, when I enter youtube, it shows the black screen and the “charging circle”, after 5 minutes it gives an error message “An error occurred, please try again later”.This problem is only on youtube website, if I enter another site I have no problem viewing flash movies.
Ok! I tried to connect to youtube trough a proxy, it seems to work :|, I watched 20 movies and there was no problem, after entering with my publick ip, I can`t see ****. The “problem” is that these guys blocked access, from my ip, to view their movies.
If anyone knows about this problem, please let us know
Odd. I seem to have the problem in reverse. Youtube videos which are embedded in for example forum posts show the message “An error occurred, please try again later.” The message appears ‘immediately’ though, and not only after 5 minutes. When I click on the flash, a new tab opens with the Youtube page - and the video plays fine. In Firefox 3.6.3.
Let me see what Konqueror does … No, seems to have no issues.

sounds like the format of the embedded link is faulty…
try to right click on the embedded link, select “Copy link location”
(which puts it in your clipboard) then paste the link into the url nav
bar of your browser and LOOK at it, is it correctly formed?
I am working in a small office, we have 7 public ip addresses, from my ip address it is not working, from one other ip, its working perfectly. So blocking whole ip class its no plausible, I tried with a proxy ip address from usa, and its working on my pc, so the problem, if we can called so, it`s the youtube web site that blocks my ip address.
I am not 100% sure what you mean, but I don’t think the solution lies that way. Vids that work in Konqueror do not work in Firefox. On top of that, it is a fairly recent problem. A few days ago everything worked fine.
Hmmm … Just tried with fresh Mozilla configs, and no issues anymore. Now I only need to figure out what exactly in my normal FF config is responsible.

@ibnAbdullah,
i guess that means you sat down at a different machine with a
different IP and it worked perfectly…and, i guess if the office
network were changed to give you a new IP, and give your non-working
IP to that machine which just worked ok, then i guess yours still
wouldn’t work and the new machine with your old IP would work ok…
i say all of that because i guess it is something wrong in the
networking set-up of YOUR machine, that is not duplicated in the others…
if my guess is wrong then when you have a new IP yours will work, and
the machine that got your old IP won’t work: which would mean that the
blocking is occurring outside your your machine…maybe in the office
router, or even outside of your office (like if your IP had been
uploading port to youtube, they might just block that single IP)…
suggest you post to the networking forum, and give all the info you can…
@denverd
You didnt understant my idea, I said that other flash based sites are working perfectly, only youtube is not working, I have a 81.19*.***.***/29 class, 6 ip addresses, all direct connected.On my ip youtube is giving an error, i tried with proxy, on the same machine, and Its working perfectly.
@Siminin
I totally forgot about cache, its working fine now.
Thanks!
