finally got 11.4 installed and no such luck wit wireless. i’ve installed the bcm43 drivers through yast, and also broadcom-wl but still no luck.
any ideas where to go next? i prefer to use knetworkmanager.

no worries chaps, some how managed to sort it by uninstalling the broadcom-wl drivers and then it seemed to work.

You cannot have both b43 and wl active. Your original problem was likely that
you did not have the b43 firmware installed. What you called installing the
“bcm43 drivers through YaSY” got the firmware. The b43 driver is an integral
part of the kernel, but the firmware cannot be distributed as part of openSUSE
due to Broadcom’s restrictions.
