Recently I’ve noticed that ever since I upgraded to 12.1(just 2 or 3 weeks ago), Yast2 has parts of the software management screen blacked out where things should not be blacked out. This makes it impossible to see the un-selectable black text on the black background. Here is a screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/otgAF.png
I have tried several things, including un- and re-installing the yast2-control-center-* packages. That seemed to have no effect.
Any help would be much appreciated.
I use Xfce4 with kdm, on openSUSE 12.1(I will update my signature momentarily).
I did, but the blacked out parts remain. The only part that changes(regardless of the theme) is that the text becomes a greyish-green, which is legible, but I would still prefer it to look normal.
Could it have something to do with the nVidia driver(for the GeForce 5 FX)? I am using the latest one.
I tried all of your suggestions, alas, none of them worked. This wasn’t my only problem with 12.1, though, so after a bit of deciding, I decided to go back to 11.4, as that worked just fine for me for the longest time. Part of me says not to do that, but the practical side says that I have other more pressing things to take care of, so this is the best (ad-hoc) fix.

It is possible that you do not have all parts of gtk installed, which can happen after an
upgrade. I don¡t have this issue. Correction, I do, it just is not apparent always. And I can
see the text, as grey over black background.
Well, have any of you reported it?
