Yast2 online update problem

I have OS 11.4 installed on home PC. I need to figure out how to fix a problem my sytem is having when update it online. When I use yast2 for online update, it makes a GUI and has three steps: initializing system, refreshing repositories, and checking for update. At the end of the second step, I get a warning on my screen in a window like this:

Warning!
There was an error in the repository initialization.
Error refreshing service Packman
(http://packman.inode.at/suse/11.4/packman.repo):

Parse error: repoindex.xml[1] Document is empty

I have tried removing the Packman repository and reinstalling it, but the same problem occurs with or without the Packman Repository configured. This is an eye sore, to say the least. Any ideas about how to fix the problem would be appreciated. Thanks.

So the repository URL that you gave for Packman is incorrect. You need to go into YaST (Enter the Password) / Software / Software Repository and select the incorrect Packman entry and delete it. Then, elect to add a new URL and use the following URL. Do not include the quotes around the address shown below:

"http://packman.inode.at/suse/openSUSE_11.4/"

I am not sure how you got this wrong in your setup, but the new Packman URL should eliminate the error that you are getting.
