with suse 12.3 64 bits, i got a strange problem when i start yast to install software…
y2base take all cpu
yast screen became grey.
zypper and yast (console mode) work fine.

Are you running the kernel from the kernel repo?
If you roll it back does it still have this issue
i use kernel 3.7.10 and it’s not coming from kernel repository.
that just strange that work in console mode… and not gui mode
What desktop?
I have no issues here in either kde or gnome
