YasT2->Hardware Information stucks

Hello. I am trying to find out what’s my soundcard model as my sound is not working very well.

I am using YasT2 - > Hardware Information to find out what is the problem. The probing hardware process starts but gets stuck at the probing monitor phase (49%). I have tried to rerun the process after rebooting the pc. I have let the process to run for a few hours but still it was stuck at the 49%

What should I try to do to skip this obstacle and get information about my sound hardware?

Thanks

lspci
will give a list of PCI devices. This should tell you the sound card/chip set.

Thanks a lot!

Here is my output

Actually it seems that my soundcard is the

00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) HD Audio Controller (rev 02)

.

I have some sound problems so what do you think I could do next? Search of a new driver (how?). Check in alsa web site?

I am new to hardware solving issues so I need some help with that.

I would like to thank you in advance.
Best Regards

One more think that just noticed!
In my kde’s control center the sound card is mentioned as
HDA Intel (Realtek ALC883). Do you believe that the kde recognizes my sound card correctly? For me lspci and kde’s control center recognize my sound card differently.

Thanks

well, your sound problem is now ‘hidden’ inside a thread without
“sound” in the subject line…and in a forum about hardware (instead
of multimedia)…

so, i suggest next you go to: http://tinyurl.com/yaawxke

in that welcome note you are given many ideas on how you might solve
the problem yourself…

carefully work your way through those, but if you are unsuccessful i’d
suggest you begin a new thread with a short but descriptive subject
and follow the posting directions inside the above referenced URL
