yast2 crash

I am new to opensuse 13.2. I was updating the unneed patches and while starting the down load it crashed. When I did the need patched everything was fine.
I ran yast in terminal and the samething it just crashed? Is this just a bug and i neef to wait for a fix or can I update the uneed patches using zypper?

Thank you ve
stec

Hi,

Yes, begin with upgrading your system using zypper:

sudo zypper up

If the problem persists after the upgrade, run yast from the
terminal and post any error messages:

sudo yast2

thanks for your reply
I have tried both those options and still no luck.
When I use yast and go to the unneed tab and select the the updates and windows come up and tells me that a few program will have to reboot and I select ok and then accept it goes to the down load windows for a quick second the closes. I have the same problem using yast in zypper.
When I use the sudo zypper up it say nothing to do.

thank you

steve

try as root

rpm -rebuilddb

Thank you for the reply but that didn’t do anything
Is this problem a known issue?

Forgive me but why do you want to install the unneeded patches?

Those would be programs that you have not got installed already which could
cause all sorts of conflicts no wonder Yast spits its dummy

I was thinking exactly the same, but his wording had me confused.
