I’m trying to make some changes to my 13.1 system, but I’m getting errors in YaST and zypper. During the ‘Load the Configured Repositories’ step, YaST says,
http://download.opensuse.org/debug/distribution/13.1/repo/oss/
Permission to access 'http://download.opensuse.org/debug/distribution/13.1/repo/oss/content' denied.
With zypper, I see
#zypper refresh
Permission to access 'http://download.opensuse.org/debug/distribution/13.1/repo/oss/content' denied.
Abort, retry, ignore? [a/r/i/? shows all options] (a):
I tried doing an unconditional update of YaST from my 13.1 install DVD in case there was some strangeness with YaST, but that didn’t help, which is why I’m asking you folks.
Also, I’m able to access these directories with my browser, so it’s not a network issue.
Weird, isn't it? A few things come to mind:
1) have you been fiddling with the safety and protection center in yast? There may be some setting that prevent compiling stuff, or something, that requires debug repos. Wild guessing, thou.
2) Not a solution, but do you actually need access to the debug repo? It comes disabled by default, I've never used it, but then I'm no programmer. OTOH, is it enabled and set to update on the repo config module in yast?
3) Do you have access to the other standard repos? Is this only with debug? If so it might be something wrong with the repository permissions at the origin, and you may want to report this as a bug.
Good luck.

Good point. Maybe the actual mirror the OP is getting redirected to does
not publish or has an issue with the debug repo, and not others. If that
is the case, I think there is a report address with mirrorbrain to tell
them of the issue and correct/blacklist that mirror.
