Yast won't start Samba

Hi,

I have this weird problem, only on my laptop so far.

  • Open the Samba Server Configuration. Setup all you want. All changes on the first tab (Start-Up) wont be executed. So that is Service start During Boot or Manually. It’s defailt set to Manually and if I change it, click ok, go back in, it will still be Manually.

  • Same goes for the Firewall settings on that same tab. Choose Open Port in Firewall and click ok. Nothing gets opened and when you start the Samba Server Configuration again and the settings is off again.

  • Also, not Samba related but I think the same issue, openening a Firewall port from the NTP config doesn’t do anything either.

Now I know I can do this all manually, which I did, but I should just work and I can’t stand it when it doesn’t :slight_smile:

Any idea’s?

I believe you need to start the Samba service:

rcsmb start

rcnmb start

The Evolution Mapi installed SMB4 as an dependancy. And that one didn’t install the smb service :s

So I guess I can’t test that Evolution plugin and use SMB services. Oh well.
