Yast the way it was and will be

Hello all,

Is it possible to install Yast from 11.1 on 11.2

The screen layout 11.2 is to say it gentle not user friendly

I prefer the 11.1 layout no scrolling windows to find what your looking for

One window with every tab in the left window

So we ditch 11.2 yast en install 11.1 yast

In short - No
Don’t even think about it.

Not sure about 11.2 (haven’t tried), but you can try editing
/etc/sysconfig/yast2 and changing WANTED_SHELL=qt
I don’t think you have to change WANTED_GUI… but you
try that one as well.

Cjcox thats the trick

set wanted_shell=“gtk”
set wanted_gui=“gtk”

Now you have a decent window when you select programs in the left windows the right windows gets a blue bachground and the sub selection there gets a white background

resizing the hole window to half a selection from the left side shows up in de right side blue background

By FAR more user friendly as the qt ****
