Yast/Repository

Hi everyone,

I installed the very new opensuse11+kde4. I could get my wifi working (with ndiswrapper). But Yast cannot connect to any repository. I tried to set up manually the proxy parameters but it did not change anything. What can I do ?

Error message (after a long waiting time):
Error trying to read from http://download.opensuse/distribution/11.0/repo/oss
etc (the same for any other repository)
Code: HTTP reponse 504
The requested URL returned error: 504

My machine: amd64 + wireless connection at my university

Remark: I can surf on these repositories with Konqueror.

Thanks.

the url:
http://download.opensuse/distribution/11.0/repo/oss

should be:
//download.opensuse.org/

I am getting the same errors from different repositories.

Look like today they are on holiday.

I am also checking other repositories.

Regards.

My latest linux install is currently installing software from multiple repositories, so I believe they are working ok. can you get to the repositories with a web browser?

Via Firefox 3.0 I am getting this message:

Error

Server said: No route matches “/distribution/10.3/repo/non-oss/” with {:method=>:get}

Or

Error

Server said: No route matches “/distribution/10.3/repo/oss/” with {:method=>:get}

Yesterday I was updating, installing and everything but since this morning the service seems to be down at least for me.

Thank you for your reply.

Via Konqueror I can browse that directories and now I am downloading the rpm’s manually (old style).

Strange.

Exactly. I just made a mistake by copying.

I just installed a KDE rpm from KDE repository without problems.

Seems to be affecting just to OSS, Non-OSS repositories.

I will let you know if I discover something else.

Yes. I can download and install manually packages from these repositories. The problem is when I want to use the ‘one-click’ installation for codecs (mp3, …). It does not work and I do not know which packages should I install. I could do a manual installation with opensuse 10.2 but not with opensuse 11.

Solution found. Actually, I need to give the username and password as described on YaST/Modules/Proxy - openSUSE

:slight_smile:
