/var/log/zypp/history
might help
it helps, thanks
but i was looking to check the log files within yast, does anyone know why this option was disabled on 11.3. i think it used to be called yast messages or yast logs
regards
I have the same question. Where did the log viewer go?
I have no idea
Partly because I have no idea what/where it was, (never used it)
There are logs in there that are not text files and things you must be logged in as root to see. The “log viewer” in YAST handled all that.
In 11.2 you could view two logs in YaST>Miscellaneous, but not with YaST in 11.3. The equivalent text files you need are here:
Start-up/boot log: /var/log/boot.msg
System log: /var/log/messages
On 11.3 with Gnome I have “Log File Viewer” in Applications/More Applications under the heading System. Is that what you’re looking for?
Not sure, I use KDE and prior to this version I was using Yast log viewer. i;m currently using mc in terminal to check my logs. any chanse that we can install the yast viewer in this version?
regards
Update

What version of KDE are you running? I just installed Ksystemlog after
reading above thread. I get Icon and give root password, but nothing comes
up. Did you have to make any changes? I’m on KDE 4.5.1 so that could be the
problem even though that thr repo it installed from.
Thanks
