I noticed a bug in the installation of tumbleweed. I don’t know if that’s because of my computer or if it’s a known problem: Since I reinstalled on March 7th the cursor in Yast (installation) looks very strange (it works, though). Does anyone else has this problem?
I will add a image later.
Hello everybody,
I just want to make it clear that this is only a problem during the installation process, not on the installed system. I installed the proprietary Nvidia driver, but the mouse pointer also works without it.
I am just amazed that the two Tumbleweed installation media have had this problem (for me) for almost a month now and that I could hardly find any information about it. Apparently it seems to be a problem that is unique to my computer.
I have an Nvidia Geforce GT 710 and an HP screen with a resolution of 1920x1080.
I’ve been using Linux for more than 5 years and so far I’ve always solved my problems myself and never used a forum before, so this is new to me. I was just amazed that the same problem occurred over several weeks when rendering the mouse pointer on the installation media.
If really nobody else runs into this in the near future, I would ask you to close this thread (don’t know how to do that), since I have installed opensuse already and therefore it’s not a big deal for me.
Thanks for the answers, best regards
Jan
I just tried fedora (beta) and noticed the same issue and the same cursor on the live system. Obviously there is a problem with kernel 5.11, I found some other forum posts, too.
