Hi all,
The first issue:
I have tried with Yast several times to select my sound driver. Each time, yast dies. It makers no difference on a quick install or the detailed one - there are three options and they all fail.
All that happens is - yast will sit there all day - I could leave it open all night the result is the same - nothing. I can run other Yast functions I can do anything so at least the laptop has not locked up - it’s just a 100 per cent failure of Yast to do anything in regard to sound card installation.
I even skip auto-detect. No matter what the option even picking the wrong sound driver the result is the same - yast fails to run. It’#a complete failure in regard to sound cards is no big issue as it’s just a gui.
Second Issue (related):
The Dell latitude 4237B. A google tells me this is a big issue no matter what linux one’s running. There are fixes for Ubuntu you can edit the text files that provide the correct info to get the linux to recognise the card.
The question therefore is what files to I need to edit within suse 11 to get the card to work? It worked on suse 9 and yast worked too.
So the right files to edit and the right info to put in would be the solution.
Anyone have that solution?
Regards,
David
