Hi,
I have Suse 12.2 (64bit) installed on my Lenovo T520. No problems up to now.
Today I did a software update and now Yast is not working any more, the Network Manager does not start…
When I start yast on the command line, I got the message that it couldn’t run yast-ncurses. I searched the web, and
found some hints that I should uninstall the n-curses and reinstall it again (probably not the smartest idea, but it’s too late now …).
If I run yast on the command line, I get the messary yast2-ncurses is not installed and package yast-gtk is not installed …
I can run the command yast2, but nothing is happening if I press a button …
Do you have any suggestions ? Thank you very much !

zypper in yast2-ncurses
Might get you going
I already tried it, but it says, the following new packages need to be installes
yast2-ncurses yast2-ncurses-pkg
but since I have no internet connection it cannot connect to the repo.
I just checked what the apper software management updates installed… zypper-aptitude, libsolv-tools, libzypp, zypper.
Maybe this causes the problems
OK, I just realized that I have Suse 12.3 Beta running on my system.
I want to get back to 12.2 (for the obvious reasons), what’s the simplest way ?
Since I do not have internet connection, I can burn an iso image and install suse 12.2 … but then I have to setup my computer again (something that I would like to avoid). Is there any way to “downgrade” ?
How did you manage to do it? It is pretty hard to do by accident.

Not really. It will require a lot of manual work, assuming it is possible at all. Your best bet is to make backup of your personal data and reinstall.
Could you post output of “zypper lr -u”?

I’m already downloading the iso image of 12.2 … I’m definitely claiming the "idiot of the day award ".
Anyway it’s too late now, I have to fix this mess somehow. So the output is:

Not sure if this will work but…
Try booting to the 12.2 DVD and select the option to “upgrade” and
follow the prompts and also cross your fingers and hope for the best.

No… Close your eyes, because your computer may explode!
Your repo list is an abomination regardless of most being No | No
Do a clean install and be done with it
