.xsession-errors contains only one line:
mkdtemp: private socket dir: No space left on device
there is however lots of disk space!
is my kde-logging broken?
how can that be fixed?

What’s the date on that “.xsession-errors” file?
For me, “.xsession-errors” has been empty since installing Leap 15.0. But now it is quite large, because I switched to “lightdm” to manage the desktop login. With either SDDM or GDM, it looks as if “.xsession-errors” is not used, and the output that used to go there is instead going to “/var/log/messages” or to the systemd journal.
I think SDDM has a “mid life location crisis” when it comes to writing it’s log files >:) … It also writes to ~/.local/share/sddm/xorg-session.log
the date of.xsession-errors is 3rd of July - so it indeed looks like it is not used.
