If I use the window control dialog(? Alt-F3) and make it FullScreen, then use Alt-F3 again to disable FullScreen, it reverts to sort-of normal.
If I then close it and re-open, repeat the process…
Bug? Anyone else?
If you try to delete or rename the ~>/.sane/xsane/xsane.rc
Then open xsane again it will create a new xsane.rc file see if there is a change.
Here in tumbleweed xfce in waylalnd it is normal.
If @conram’s suggestion doesn’t resolve the issue, an easy workaround in Plasma is configuring a Special Window Setting.
I’m not at my desktop now but the process should be something like this:
Right click on the offending window’s titlebar > Navigate to More Actions > Select Configure Special Window Settings… > Click Add Property…* at the bottom left > Under Size & Position select Size > Alter the value to a preferred window size > Set it to Apply Initially >> Click OK then try closing and restarting xsane.
Plasma will force the configured size whenever it detects the window being opened.
Thanks for the suggestion.
Must admit, I steer clear of this (although is VERY handy!!), as had issues with Thunderbird at one stage, trying to separate the different windows!! For the life of me, I couldn’t (tried all sorts of settings), and every window (including dialogs!), started in the same place/samesize/everything!!
Luckily, the other fix worked.
Ah well…
It can definitely be a bit fiddly with some apps, especially if they don’t name their windows particularly uniquely, but I’m glad deleting the config file sorted it out because that’s a much better fix.
