Xorg 7.4 upgrade? Factory version doesn't work...

Tried to upgrade to the Xorg 7.4 version in the factory repositories (11.0, x86_64, on a T61 Thinkpad with Intel 965GM), but X did not seem to work at all - just a blank screen with an underline cursor in normal mode, and barely usable mouse & keyboard in failsafe.

Is there any timeframe for getting Xorg 7.4 in a working version? 11.1 beta, maybe? I really, really need to be able to run at least OpenGL 2.x.

11.1 beta includes X 7.4; I’m looking hard at this version due to issues with the last three versions of Catalyst and the current PAE kernel (especially since 7.4’s radeonhd driver now includes R5xx/RV5xx 3D support). You have to download it via torrent, however (no biggie, though) if you want the DVD.
