Hi folks,
Just sharing…
I’ve been trying to get xmind 8 update 9 to install from the napobear community repo and I ran into problems. I also could not get it to work after installing from flathub or snap
However, during my searches, I came across a solution that works by installing it as a user; the URL is https://github.com/plembo/xmind8
Note that this is an older version of xmind and there are newer versions that do work, but I think the UI for xmind_8 works better for me.
Cheers,
Brad
You can download RPM from official website.
I tried to install flatpak ; it launch.
flatpak install net.xmind.XMind8
flatpak run net.xmind.XMind8
I downloaded the rpm from the web site and installed it but it did not launch.
I then downloaded the zip file, but was unable to get it configured properly in /opt/ using an approach I used for several years.
I also tried the prepackaged version, although now I don’t recall if it was flatpak or snap; in any case, it would not launch after installation.
It wasn’t until I installed the original zip file as a user in my home directory with plembo’s scripts/guidance was I able to get it to install properly.
Not sure why I had so much trouble before, but if others are having problems, I thought I would recommend plembo’s method.
Cheers.
