xfce (lightdm) login screen resolution (changing)

I just installed OpenSuSE 12.3 and selected xfce4 as my dekstop. The only problem I have is that by default the installer selected the highest resolution possible that my monitor can display. i would prefer that the login screen use a smaller resolution (1024*768 example) for the people logging into this machine have a hard time seeing the text to type their username password. Is there a way to change the resolution of the lightdm (xfce4) login screen?

(…even change the wallpaper/colors?)

I don’t think there is a way to change resolution of lightdm login page.Well you can change background in /etc/lightdm/lightdm-gtk-greeter.conf.

If you have problem viewing the text then you can select large font on the lightdm top-right corner.
