XFCE exo problem

Hi
I am unable to use XFCE Desktop as a user because a child process exo in /usr/lib/xfce4 is not able to run.
I am able to use XFCE as root.
I could run KDE Desktop alone. No other DE is functional.

I also get DRM cpt error while leaving the session

Never run a GUi as root you can damage ownership of files in your home

Since this appears to be an ownership problem I suggest you check all the config files for the effected GUIs in your home to be sure that none are owned by root

Hi
Thanks.

Could you tell me how to check the permissions.

If you see an error, you should post the error verbatim.

TSU

Failed to launch preferred application for category “TerminalEmulator”.
Failed to execute child process “/usr/lib/xfce4/exo-1/exo-helper-1” (Permission denied).

The above is the error

The situation is There is no panel for XFCE, no application works and I get the same error message

Attempts:
a) Changed Ownership of home folder:
chown -hvR user /home/user

b) created new user and attempted:
Error is regarding dbus not running and I am unable to copy paste the verbatim error

Hi
If I create a new user, the exact error message is as below:

Unable to load a failsafe session

Unable to determine failsafe session name.
Possible causes :
xconfd isn’t running (D-Bus setup Problem);
environment variable $XDG_CONFIG_DIRS is set incorrectly (must include “/etc”; or
xfce4-session is installed incorrectly

Actually before installation of xfdashboard, the XFCE was working well
Now I have uninstalled xfdashboard and reinstalled xfce and still the situation continues
