Just bought a Xerox 6125 color laser, works great with you know what OS. However in the Xerox Evaluator Guide it clearly states that there are drivers for SUSE 9.2/3. On the specification sheet for the product it only mentions the other OS. Has anyone got one of these working with 10.3? I will be contacting Xerox as I think the product has been mis-sold.
There is an entry here on the Xerox 6120 (close, but not quite a 6125) HCL/Printers - openSUSE
… however the absence of the Xerox 6125 from that openSUSE wiki compatibility page does not mean too much. I get frustrated because many users with functioning printers under SuSE simply do not ensure their printer is in the list (updating the wiki as required). … But thats another issue/peeve, not relevant to this thread.
If one looks at the User manual for the 6125, it has a Linux entry for drivers in the index, but that takes one to page 3-39, which only has Win-2000. Looks like they did a copy and paste from another manual, and forgot to regenerate the Index .

Sigh, yet another page collecting Linux printer compatibility information.
I’ve added my fine-working HP OfficeJet J5785 AIO to that, too, now, but
will we ever see the end of this? There’s got to be a better way than
asking everyone who got a printer to work with Linux, to search out
dozens of web pages and add their model to all of them?

In my experience, Xerox is very bad at supporting anything except
Windows-of-the-day. Even trying to find a Windows XP driver for a printer
sold in Windows 98 days was a nightmare. Asking them to share information,
let alone actually help developing a Linux driver proved completely futile.

I have a 6120 that has a PPD from Xerox. I have used it since openSUSE 10.0
with no problem. There are two versions available. i find the older one
gives me more options. Xerox only lists windows ppd’s for your printer. I
was once told by Xerox you can copy the windows ppd to Linux and it should
work. Don’t know about that for sure.
