Xeon 1230V3 and Gigabyte H87-HD3 Advice

Hi All,

I’m thinking of buying these and I wonder if anyone else has had experience with them on Opensuse 13.1 and did any issues arise ?

I don’t know about the board you have but I can tell you the GigaByte
Z87-D3HP supports 13.1 and 12.3 with no problems. I have an I5 cpu.
Looking at GigaBytes website both boards appear to support the same
processor chip sets. Both have 1150 socket if i am not mistaken.

You can compare them on the website. I would suspect they both would
work even though they do not call out the Xeon 1230V3 for either one.

Hi All,

just to close off this thread. I ended up getting getting the hardware and just dropped replaced it in to my existing 12.3 system (i5-750, GA-P55A-UD3) and all went well.
