Xen installation

Hi,
I have an existing OpenSuse 11.3 (64 bit) box serving a couple of websites. I would like to enable Xen.
Question - If I install Xen through Yast, will my existing configurations be reset and will I loose my existing data?
Does Xen have to be installed on a clean system?

Thanks,
Leslie

installing xen will add another kernel to your system, plus some other
packages. it shouldn’t endanger your data in any way, nor mess around
with your system. that said, it’s always a good idea to back up, since
accidents do happen…

let me add that, while i managed to load the xen kernel and install
everything, i couldn’t get any gest to run on my system. i’m using the
latest kernel from Kernel:/HEAD and a bunch of non-standard repos–that’s
more than one reason for things to go wrong. since i don’t really need
xen, only wanted to play around, i dropped it at that.

unless everything works on your first try, i’d suggest searching these
forums & openSUSE mailing lists for the topic. there’s quite a bit
information, for different scenarios.
