x86_64 repos not working

I have for several days now tried to update a fresh install of 11.4_x86_64 with no luck, downloads either don’t start or reaches about 90% and fails. I’m getting some files but the kernel desktop delta and severeal other files are impossible to get.
I’ve tried direct links (from a browser) to several different mirrors to the same file with same result.
I’ve tried to different connection to the Internet (but the same ISP)
i586 repos are working, updated a 32-bit system yesterday, they are slow but working.
I’ve also tried to update my wifes laptop with same result…

Is this a global issue with the x86_64 repos or is it my ISP (TDC in Denmark) or something else ?

Have you tied with zypper?

as far as i can tell TDC has something in their IPv6 setup that they
have not figured out yet…this may or may not help you, but if you
carefully follow my instructions, it should not hurt you:

-open YaST, give root password when asked, and go System > Bootloader

-a new YaST window will open with two, three or more items listed, the
top one will have a check mark, be the default boot and already be
highlighted, so click the “Edit” button

-window changes and shows all kinds of ‘stuff’ do NOT change any of it,
instead, add at the end of the bottom line (“Optional Kernel Command
Line Parameter”) exact this (after one space):

ipv6.disable=1

then click “Ok”

after YaST has finished, shut down everything and reboot your machine…

then try your update again…if it fails report exact error messages (or
behavior if no messages)

godt vjer, huh??

I’ve just triede zypper, didn’t work.

I also tried to disable IP v6 as DenverD described but it didnt work.
The error is a simple timeout.

Now I am upgading thru an UMTS dongle from 3, it is working fine so I think DenverD is right about TDC.

Det siges at vejret er nydeligt, men jeg sidder i kælderen og prøver at få konens PC over på Linux.

another thing is that software.opensuse.org is the address to a
redirector which then sends your request ideally to a nearby and fast
server…but, i’m not sure it is always as ideal as possible…

i used to always go to the extra trouble to set up my repos to point at
http://ftp.klid.dk/ftp/opensuse/

and, you might try that yourself…

the page http://mirrors.opensuse.org/ also lists sites outside Denmark,
but near…
