Today i updated to x11-video-nvidiaG05 470.86-46.1 but had to change back because the HDMI port on my laptop was not responding, KDE kept asking what screen setup i would like, right now i protected all the packages from the NVIDIA repository on Tumbleweed to see if i can isolate the problem to a certain package, if so i will add more detailed information regarding those packages.
My main question is if other users also experience similar problems

I would suspect you need to wait for updated/rebuild packages to appear in the nvidia repository… No issues here with the 495.44 run file which needed re-building after the kernel update.
Yep the last two dup seems to break nvidia.
I am experiencing a disconnection on my second monitor connected to HDMI.
The primary monitor on another HDMI seems fine. The disconnection here happens after suspend
the second monitor becomes disabled and I have to run the nvidia-settings to reconnect it.
I tried the newest .run driver yesterday but still no luck.
There’s also a case where installing the driver doesn’t look succesful til you run mkinitrd then it pulls through
and got to init 5.
nvidia-gfxG05-kmp-default 470.82.00_k5.14.11_2-45.1 and x11-video-nvidiaG05 470.82.00-45.1 seems to work fine my temporary workaround was rolling back a snapshot and then protecting all pacakges from the NVIDIA repository supplied with TumbleWeed, this is also how i have isolated the cause
Yay! lucky you. my card is old a 600 series (gtx 650 ti & gt 640) and the last supported by this driver are the 700 series.
Could be about time to look for a new one, problem is the pricing.

I reinstalled the 470.86.run driver with the option --no-systemd yesterday and didn’t use the nvidia-xconfig during install.
Before reinstalling the driver I cleared my /etc/X11/xorg.conf.
After the installation of the driver I configured my two displays using the xfce4-display-settings.
When my machine wake up from suspend the displays always goes to mirror or twin view.
It is ignoring the nvidia-settings also when I tried it so I deleted the xorg.conf created by nvidia-settings
and use the xcfe4-display-settings but this time I add a profile in the advance settings using the current config. of the two monitors.
Now it seems to work. It’s been almost a day leaving it to suspend and wake up and the display work as configured.

It’s doing the same thing with 04 driver…I’ve tried duping a few times within this month only to have my secondary (hdmi) monitor on my laptop not show up anymore. While the nvidia drivers are loaded per lsmod and the laptop screen is working the hdmi monitor doesn’t even show up in the displays…rolling back fixes this. Here’s what I have working but a dup will break it. This is a Tumbleweed install.
