X server wont start by default

I was using Suse 11.0 for a while now. There were some problems and I decided to switch to 11.1. Now my computer wont boot in xserver. I will go in test mode by default. I can manually type startx and get into GUI. But how can I do it by default.

I don’t know if it matters but I didnt find a single Shutdown button in any tabs. I only have “logout”. so to shutdown i have to log out and press power button.

You can figure I am not much familiar with Linux. I have been only using it to connect to Linux cluster i school and run some jobs.

Any kind of help is appreciated.

I have ATI radeon X300 display card

thanks

  • sachadon,

what do you mean by “test mode”?

Usually you set the runlevel to “5” in Yast, System, runlevel editor.
