I don’t now what the beep the deal is. I booted my computer this morning and it went right to tty1 prompt. I tried to start x manually and it fails too with xinit failed. /usr/bin/Xorg is not setuid Checked my /var/log/messages file and all it says is kdm[818] X Server died. Yeah, ya don’t say? wtf I haven’t even had my cup of coffee yet and already I’m getting drama.
Some advice please!

never mind. I know what’s wrong. I updated last night and one of the updates was a kernel update and I have an nvidia card.
Sorry for the bother guys.

John, if you feel adventurous, perhaps you might look at my bash utility called SANDI, designed to use DKMS to automatically reload the nVIDIA video driver if you are not using the repository method (to load this driver) and normally reload it the hard way. Take a look at the bash script here: S.A.N.D.I. - SuSE Automated NVIDIA Driver Installer - Version 1.00 - Blogs - openSUSE Forums, Any comments are welcome there on this script.
Thank You,
