Hey guys,
I hope I am not waisting anyones time here, but I have been looking absolutely everywhere for a solution to my problem. I am a new user to Linux (well, second try) and I am very determined to stick with it. During an installation of Compiz Fusion on openSuse 11 using the one-click on the openSuse site, I experienced a plain which screen partially through the installation. After a prolonged amount of time, I decided that all I could do was restart and hope for the best. After restarting the boot process seemed normal until I got to the KDE boot screen that shows the progress. The HDD icon flashes a couple of times and then the shell comes up requesting a username and password. After trying a number of steps I attempted to use the startx command. This once again showed the HDD icon, which flashed and returned me to the shell with a large number of warnings:
Warning: No symbols defined for <I55> keycode (213)
Warning: No symbols defined for <I5A> keycode (218)
…
startkde: Starting up…
Cannot mix incompatible Qt libraries
kded(3972): Communication problem with “kded” , it probably crased.
Error message was: “org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply” : " “Message did not receive a reply (timeout by message bus)” "
I am running KDE 4 (straight from the existing openSuse download) on an AMD64 with a radeo X1600 graphics card.
Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.
