Ordered a Mac pro notebook a few days ago. A trip only Fed Ex could do is on. My notebook went from Shanghi, China to Anchorage, Alaska to Memphis, Tenn. Amazing, I live in the Pacific, NW, a short flight to my door. I always have shipping hassles up here in the mountains. They see my zip code and off goes my overnight and 3 day delivery. Oh well, hope the mac survives the x-rays of security. Oh, no Apple stores for 500 miles.
I think sort of strange routes are common ? In August this year, my wife ordered a Lenovo X220 laptop, which was delivered from China where it was made, to Regina Saskatchewan Canada to my sister’s place … here is its route from the destination (Regina) to the origin (China):

After a week or so with my Mac book pro the review not so good. The istuff bloatware takes over, in the way, cannot remove istuff, Apple has no way to trash it. Have the shipping box, maybe the istuff will iship back.
That’s what I never liked about Apple. They are control freaks.
Could do Linux on the Mac. Then you have control. It’s just specialized hardware.
My brother said Linux allows you to create your own office programs or something like that. Is that right?

yes… open source means the programming it open for your inspection and
use…that is: you can decide you don’t like OpenOffice the way it is,
and then take a copy of the programs and change them as you wish…
or, you can sit down with “a blank piece of paper” and design and build
what you want, from the ground up…

True, but you don’t have to. openSUSE comes with a huge range of ready-to-use software, i.e. if you install it on the Mac, you can start using immediately: an Office suite, browsers, mailclients, graphics tools, photo management, photo editors, and all this for free. Just download an install medium (DVD, LiveCD) from openSUSE.org, burn it to disk, install and enjoy
