Wrong resolution if monitor powered off?

Hi all,

I’ve got a TV connected via HDMI to my PC. If I power on my PC while the TV is not yet running (i.e. no power, not switched to the “PC” channel, the PC will start with a wrong resolution and lcok up the whole computer. I can’t switch to an console (CTRL+ALT+F2) or restart the Xserver ((CTRL+ALT+BKSCP)*2). All I can do is log in from a different computer and kill KDE or press CTRL+ALT+DEL to reboot the computer with the TV powered on. Is there anything I have to enter in xorg.conf manually?

Cheers

Martin

No one able to give a hint?

While in KDE try the following steps:

  1. Log in to Yast → Control Center → Hardware → Graphics Card and Monitor
  2. Click on Graphics Card and Monitor
  3. Select the Display 1 tab

If the default setting is set to Vesa, scroll up and select LCD and choose your resolution

  1. Click on the Change button

This will take you to the Monitor Settings

  1. Sax2 will prompt you to test and save your settings
  2. After saving your settings, log out of KDE and log in
