Running out of writable DVD’s I decided to give the net install CD a go. However the checksums found at the download site differ from what I get at the terminal, checked three downloads to be sure. I downloaded the metalink’s .meta4 file and the checksums there equals the ones I get at the terminal. So which are the correct ones?
I just checked. The checksums at the download page appear to be wrong.
I download both 32bit and 64bit NET install iso images.
I also downloaded the gpg signatures, md5 checksums, sha1 checksums.
The gpg signature checked out as correct. I view that as the definitive test.
For the 32 bit download, the signatures that I computed locally were:
9d1067c490a8af5a34b1287e75306949 openSUSE-NET-Build0025-i586.iso (md5sum)
632893111e3b9b0c3bf9a14a32c722db111abc4f openSUSE-NET-Build0025-i586.iso (sha1sum)
and for the 64 bit download, the signatures that I computed locally were:
0c89c63c7c23cb89005d072cc5ea7942 openSUSE-NET-Build0025-x86_64.iso (md5sum)
bd35ace41bb2f261145ed785c11e3bc1814f1987 openSUSE-NET-Build0025-x86_64.iso (sha1sum)
For both NET CDs, the md5 and sha1 signatures at the site disagreed with my computation. However, the gpg signature from the site does verify both downloads.
I hope that helps.

Use a metalink aware downloader, like aria2c, to do the download. The
result is guaranteed to be correct.
