Wrong charset is russian forum

Russian forum have such strange thing in header:

<meta http-equiv=“Content-Type” content=“text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1” />

while forum encoding is utf8

If you change the language setting at the bottom of the page, that should
take care of this.

You are correct, the software sends UTF-8 encoded Unicode, but it says wrongly it sends ISO-8859=1.

Please use the search function to search in this subforum for several discussions on it. Your conclusion (as mine) might be that it is a stupid error that can’t be to difficult to remedy, but until now nothing is done on it.

And Jim is right, if you change the language (which imho should only change the langiage of the texts you see in buttons, headings, etc.) the said code of the page is also changed. Only a bypass.
