Wrong battery state after resume from hibernation

Hello together,

I’ve got an annoying problem with my Acer Travelmate 8101Wlmi with openSUSE 11.0 installed on it.

I often run my notebook with plugged in AC adapter and removed battery. Then, I go to hibernation, remove the AC adapter and put in my battery to transport the notebook.
Now, if i resume again, just with the battery and no AC adapter plugged in, the battery is not recognized and the device still thinks that its only powered by the AC adapter.

cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT1/state

returns

present: no

So I’m not able to see the state of my battery, how long battery life lasts etc.

Can anybody please help me solving this problem?

Thank you,
Daniel

Nobody has a guess?

Or is this a well-known bug is should know?

I’ve found the following article about that problem on a HP notebook (Section “Battery and AC adapter status on resume”): Linux on the HP compaq nc6000

Isn’t there an appropriate solution for ACER models?

Thanks,
Daniel
