wrong address redirect in firefox to pishing

When I type in the address bar a wrong address or a keyword to search firefox redirect me to searchportal.information.com I think a pishing site or similar.
I expect firefox should search by google here, shouldn’t it?

I think it will depend on the intelligence of the initial input.

ie; if you feed it gobbledegook you’ll get that back

Make sure that google is set as your preferred search (check the search window).

Redirection on a bad url is sometimes done by ISPs and DNS providers. You can try using the google DNS servers to see if that helps you avoid the problem.

Hi
OpenDNS auto redirects to it’s own search on typos etc…

Only with firefox I have this strange redirection, and you?

and you?

No

I don’t have that with any browser (firefox, opera, chromium, konqueror).
