Wrong Action Taken on Laptop Lid Closed

I’m running opensuse 13.1 on a Thinkpad.

I didn’t make any settings changes, but a few days ago my laptop started going into hibernate mode when I close the lid while it’s plugged in. It’s supposed to just turn off the screen. Checking desktop settings confirms it isn’t set to hibernate.

Where should I be looking to fix this?

Check the configuration in /etc/systemd/logind.conf perhaps…

I added

HandleLidSwitch=lock

and rebooted and it’s fine now. Thanks.

Minor correction: It was going into sleep mode, not hibernate.

Thanks for the update. Glad that it worked for you. :slight_smile:
