Write NTFS drive with live DVD

Hi, is it possible to mount hard drives with ntfs with write permissions using the live dvd, How, I need it to backup my data from an etx3 partition to a ntfs partition.

A Knopix dvd will do it by default if I recall correctly.

hostname:~ # mount -t ntfs-3g /dev/sda2 /path_to/mount_point

that one did the trick
