WPA fresh install issues

Hello,

I have just installed opensuse 11.2 onto a toshiba a100 satellite laptop.

I have gone through many tutorials and troubleshooting pages and am not getting anywhere. My general noobness isn’t helping much either.

I can connect with no problems as long as encryption is disabled, as soon as I enable wpa, the furthest I get is being able to ping computers on the network, no internet.

I’m trying to eventually make this all work through the KDE network control thing in the task bar (bottom right corner)

ok… what other info do I need to provide.

i checked to make sure wpa_supplicant and wpa_supplicant gui are installed…

What am I missing? I appreciate any and all help…

Have you configured the connection in the network manager in the tray?

Make sure you have set the
ESSID: nufsaid

and the encryption type to WPA/WPA2 Personal

Thanks for the reply.

Yes I did. I’ve tried many times. I’ve also tried deleting the connection and tried setting it up again. It says connecting, but I never get a heart.

If I turn off WPA on my router and then set up a new wireless connection with encryption turned off, then it works great.

So, what should I try next?

thnx

I have the same wireless on my R61
It works perfectly
WPA/WPA2 Personal

must be down to settings
